Alex had obtained all of the necessary clearances through security for his tour today. Cat seemed rather excited to him which was a little strange considering they were touring a pharmaceutical company and not a chocolatier.

Alex figured each person had their likes and dislikes. His future wife was a doctor after all and why wouldn’t she be interested in seeing the process behind which future drugs are made. Plus, she would have the opportunity to see where her future husband worked.

They both dressed casually for the day. The company was in mourning and Alex was sure that there would be minimal staff present today. He gave his admin the day off so he made all of the arrangements himself. It was warm for late April so he decided to put the top down on his Camaro. Cat liked the wind blowing through her hair especially in this car.

They arrived at the main gate to the campus shortly after nine and was ushered through without any of the normal security checks. This must be how the executives live! “Thank you Jim. I appreciate it.”

“You are welcome sir. What brings you in today?”

“I made arrangements to give my fiancée the ten cent tour.”

“Yes sir. I will just need Dr. Allen to sign the log and allow me to take her picture for her visitor’s badge.”

“I would be happy to Jim,” Cathy said and signed the electronic signature pad on the desk. She stepped back a bit for her picture and waited patiently for Jim to print the badge.

“Here you are Dr. Allen. Just keep this clipped to your person at all times and enjoy. Congratulations again Mr. Ford.”

“Thanks, Jim”

Jim buzzed them into the main corridor off the lobby. Alex escorted Cat to the bank of elevators. He wanted to show off his office first and the rest later. He pushed the button for the top floor and waited. They exited the elevator and headed straight for his door. Unfortunately, his name had been removed and the office was empty. He looked around but the offices seemed like a ghost town.

He heard a nose behind him and turned and was surprised to see Junior approaching from the lounge down the hall. He saw them standing outside Alex’s office and smiled. He said, “Surprise! I didn’t expect you here so soon.”

“Cathy and
